Administrative Specialist
About the Position: This position is assigned to the front office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)). This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy.
- Oversee management of taskers for the organization via the task management system (Correspondence and Task Management System).
- Maintain internal control of staff and administrative actions throughout the organization.
- Review policies to determine actions required and timelines for actions to be completed.
- Improve the effectiveness of administrative work methods.
- Conduct training with Military Community and Family Policy staff on assigned administrative programs.
- Provide assistance to employees in preparation of payroll and time and attendance documents.
- Conduct special assignments on complex high-priority issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Specialized Experience GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining the organization's tasking system, possessing a strong knowledge of workflow processes, assisting with time and attendance approval and/or guidance, improving administrative work methods and procedures, providing guidance on administrative policies, providing periodic reports to organizational leadership, and experience with a government purchase card program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
